Yoga with kid

It's the last day of my kids' Fall vacation. We have been playing and doing yoga together almost everyday. The best building relationship activity between kids and parents i have done. From watching and being around me while i do yoga, she does yoga in her own way too.

Practice makes progress

Have you ever heard some people say that they don't do yoga because they are not flexible enough? Well....when you think you are not flexible, that's the reason you should do yoga. Do not be fooled by media or photos you have seen how yoga bodies should look like. What you see is just Asana poses, only a tiny part of practicing yoga. There are much more going on in your mind and body throughout years of practicing yoga. One of the things i have learned is to appreciate more of simple things around me. The practice teaches me to be more open minded while i have become close to myself. Happier version of me. Learning to be patient like practicing inversions. This clip shows my first headstand back in 2015. Nope i couldn't hold it and i fell almost against the glass door. Very dangerous!! I didn't know how to breathe and engage my core muscles at that time. In 2017 headstand has become almost my daily thing to do. When i get up or when i feel sleepy, my mind says ge...

Yoga flow for beginners

Using props when you practice yoga,  is a very great way. Here i used a scarf instead of a strap. When you just start practing yoga, just go for it. Get anything and use anything in your house. Do not invest so much money on buying expensive mats, wheels or straps. When you really think they will worth your money, invest in good quality of props. Well.....i still use a very low budget mat though 😅😄

Is yoga art?

When i first started joining yoga challenge on Instagram in August 2015, frankly i had no idea what yoga was. I was also wondering if i would like it because it must be very slow.  After a few months, trying to practice asana has become a part of my daily life. Some say yoga is a kind of sport, some disagree.  Well...for me it has taught me so many things. I have had back pain after having my second child. Not anymore after regular yoga practice. My body started to change and i have become stronger.  Joining yoga challenges on Instagram means i need to take picture of asana poses and post them publicly. Through this process, i have seen how my practice has been developed. Don't think that i have been always flexible please. Nope...i was not. Started practicing at age 37 with 2 kids, day by day my mind and my body start to be different.  On Instagram you will often see beautiful and perfect poses. Just don't get yourself fooled. Everybody has put a lot of tim...

Slow yoga flow for healthy back

When you have already learned some yoga poses, it is time to just drop the focus on alighments and just flow your body.  It was strange for me seeing some yogis posting yoga flows on Instagram but after a period of time, i have also learned to shut my thoughts and just enjoy my moment. Just a moment to move to connect with my body. It is incredible wonderful feeling to just be at that moment and breathe.  This flow i did for a backbend yoga challenge on Instagram. Unfornately my Instagram account has been not accessible and i lost all pictures, video's, friends and almost 5K followers this week. So, i created a new one @lermyogatofitness because i love the community.

Morning Yoga Flow

It is never easy to wake up and do an exercise everyday but if we train our mind, anything is possible. I won't say that i have no such days that i want to lay in bed too but after 2 years of practicing yoga and fitness at home, my body and mind just need to move. If i miss a day of exercising or yoga, i will keep thinking about it the whole day. Some say it's an addiction. Well...we all have one or two addictions, right?  One of my morning yoga flows i usually do before doing advanced yoga poses. Basicly, i love to focus on my back, spines, shoulders, legs and core. These are probably my routine.

Yoga flow headstand

Yoga inversions are my favourite asanas. When i first learned in in 2015, i got dizzy and felt like fainted. Because feet are up and the blood flows down to the head, it is a very healthy way to refresh our brain.  Inversions (headstand, handstand, chinstand, cheststand, forearmstand) are considered advanced yoga poses but with regular practice, it is really fun to do.

Getting started my new yoga and fitness blog

I've never thought that i would make a blog specificly about yoga and fitness. After 2 years of self-taught practicing yoga, it is a very good apportunity to share my experiences with all of you.  Just a first post to test and i will be working on other details later.  Hope to get connected with some of you on this flatform.  If you have an Instagram account, have a look at mine @lermyogatofitness   See you guys around!  Take a moment for yourself to appreciate small things around you.
